Why this Cause

Some experiences in life are so painful, they cause deep and lasting suffering in every part of us. This is trauma.

Millions of people have experienced severe trauma, often through war but also from many other things. Many no longer believe they are loved. Their relationship with God, family, or community may be severed.

This Cause helps restore people and communities devastated by trauma. It provides Bible-based trauma healing through group sessions, translated materials, and training.

Healing heart wounds works best in heart languages, so everything is customized to people's local languages and culture. Our materials are currently available in over 150 languages, and we continue to add more.

The sessions and materials help people first recognize, then work through their trauma. This includes expressing their pain, but not getting stuck there. They are invited to the cross of Christ for healing. Once healing has progressed, they often are able to forgive and be reconciled to those who caused the pain.

Where Your Donation Goes

Healing Sessions

A small group of people gather to process their trauma together over two or three days. They are led by trained local facilitators from their own community, who speak their language. Your support covers the costs of these sessions, including travel, food, and more.

Materials

We've developed a curriculum that shares mental health concepts within a Biblical framework. We then customize it for local churches and communities based on their needs and culture. Your support goes to translating these materials, quality checks, printing, and distribution.

Training

We train new local facilitators to lead trauma healing sessions and mentor existing facilitators. We also help other organizations develop their own trauma healing programs. Your donation covers the costs of running these training sessions.
