Our first workshop with the Tugbiri community brought twenty farmers together to discuss a full set of faith and farming topics in their own language.
The Tugbiri Bible translation team invited SIL colleagues Yunana Malgwi and Katharine Norton to hold this workshop, which covered a range of topics from ‘Farmers in the Bible’ and ‘Farming in God’s Strength without using Drugs’ to ‘Resolving Conflict’.
Three men did sentence-by-sentence interpretation of the teaching into the Tugbiri language.
One of the highlights of the workshop, says Katharine, was doing Bible studies using the new Tugbiri Gospels and Acts (printed in November 2020). For many participants, this was the first time they had used Scripture in their own language.
